Weddings
Your wedding day is one the most important days of your life and we hope to make it special and memorable for you. Weddings can be arranged for most Saturdays in the year and the vicar will be happy to help you find a suitable time. As well as helping you prepare for being married the vicar will also help you with practicalities such as creating your order of service and choosing hymns. See Team page for general overview of weddings.
Baptism
Baptism is the rite of Christian initiation and is open to all. Preparation is given and in the case of adults you are encouraged to join a Start! group or take part in the Alpha course.
The Baptism of infants and young children takes place either at the Family Service on the first Sunday of the month or by arrangement on any other Sunday in the afternoon. See Team page for general overview of Baptisms.
Confirmation
Confirmation is about making your personal commitment to Jesus and towards leading a Christian lifestyle. St Mary’s joins with the other churches in the Wheatley Team for this special service which is preceded by preparation classes for adults and juniors. See Team page for general overview of Confirmation.
Bereavement
St Mary’s holds an annual service to commemorate those who have died in recent years. During this service we remember those who have died prayers are said for the bereaved and long life candles are blessed and then taken into the churchyard where they are placed alongside graves. Those who have lost loved ones in the last three years are invited to this service though anyone else is also welcome too.
